RISK OF CARELESS TRANSLATION

Many foreigners including Italian Nationals when they come to Thailand, need to translate all kinds of documents from Thai language to Italian language and vice versa. For example; Marriage or Birth Certificates, Driving Licenses, Court Documents and so on. Often they need to submit these documents and their Italian translations to the Italian Embassy in Bangkok. It is very important for the customer that the translation/s are correct otherwise the Embassy may very well refuse the file and may result in the customer losing a lot of time preparing and receiving a new translation. Furthermore, if the translation contains mistakes, for example, a person's name that has been already registered within any Thai government office, it is not always possible to change this name again. For instance, if a child is born in Thailand and his father gives him an Italian name, the name must be written inside Birth certificate (Suthibat) in Thai language first. If the person who translated the Italian name to Thai makes a mistake and the wrong name is registered in the Birth certificate, it will not be possible to make changes to the name ever again and this will cause a lot of problems to the customer and his family. Problems like this could well leave a damaging effect and will probably result in anger and malice with the person who caused the problem. For this very reason, when translating names between Italian and Thai (or vice versa) it is very important to translate in the correct way. It must be correct for the Italian way to pronounce the name. So if your office has no translator to hand, someone who can reliably speak and translate and who is Italian, it is a good idea to ask "Linguathai" to translate Italian documents for you. We never make mistakes were names are concerned in translations.
